50 years ago, five British comedy writers and one American animator joined forces to unleash upon the world one of the greatest comedy troupes of all time, Monty Python. The year 1989 ended up being one hell of a year for movies. From Tim Burton's first Batman film to Ghostbusters II, this year really gave us some true gems, as well as some lesser but still memorable hits. While there have certainly been a few missteps, lately, the quality really seems to be improving overall.
