Episode 129: Six Flags Over Valhalla
Friday Jun 24, 2016
Friday Jun 24, 2016
Get your tickets and Fast Passes ready, because the team at Geek Salad is going to be taking you on a wild ride! Relive the fun, the laughs, and the motion sickness when Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine discuss their favorite amusement parks.
From the parks that the gang grew up around in New England, to some of the most head scratching “amusement” parks imaginable (Dollywood, I’m looking right in your general direction!) to the House of Mouse, the Geeks have you covered!
(For the parents out there, we would like to point out that, while we are discussing a whole bunch of Family FunTime destinations, this show is definitely NOT for your kids!!!)

Episode 89: Wilson SmogMonster Overdrive
Wednesday Oct 16, 2013
Wednesday Oct 16, 2013
(for Stitcher and iTunes users....due to issues with posting the episode, we're reposting...just for you!)
Imagine, if you will, you are
stranded on a desert island. Your sanity
is only held in check by the 5 CDs that you’ve chosen to bring with you to live
out your life with. So what would they
be?
Jim, Andy, and Mike took the question, first to their Twitter and Facebook audience, then, to Mike C. and Adam, who couldn’t make it record. Then, they roundtable their 5 top CDs (and another 5 that came close) with discussions about College Alt Rock, Classic Rock, Country, and Charlie Daniels’ ability to appear during bar fights!
Then hang out for the Segments, when Michael McDonald reviews his Top 5 Desert Island CDs, a Stupid Stupid regarding Dino Porn, and a rundown of the trailer of “Thor: The Dark World,” and a run down of the first few weeks of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” in the Salad Shills!

As a special gift to the Geek Salad faithful, while we all wait for the gang to reassemble for the next episode, here is some extra audio that was recorded for episode 81, but was ultimately cut for time. This audio includes the regular segments of Trailer Park (The Wolverine), Stupid Stupid (more Michael Bay idiocy), and Salad Shills (video games, vacations, and fun new technology). Enjoy and keep an eye out for episode 82 to be coming soon... we hope.

A Plead for Sanity While at the Aquarium
Sunday Oct 23, 2011
Sunday Oct 23, 2011
I'm just going to take a quick moment to say something that I noticed while I was on a recent trip to the New England Aquarium. This is to all people, but it's mainly directed at parents. I realize that Finding Nemo was an incredibly popular movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I also realize that kids love to watch it and so they naturally connect fish they see at the various Aquariums around the world with that beloved movie. However, I would kindly ask that parents stop pointing out the clownfish and regal tangs and telling their kids, "Look! There's Nemo!" or "Look! There's Dory!" Yes, we know, you and your kids have seen the movie. But "Nemo" and "Dory" are not those fish. Those are fictional characters. That would be like seeing a soldier and telling your kids, "Look! There's Captain America!" It's never too early to start giving your kids the benefits of a better education. If you must reference the movie, point out that the fish in the tank in front of them is a clownfish, just like Nemo. Yes, I may be nitpicking, but it takes just as long to have your kids get it right as it does to have them get it wrong, and I, personally, would rather them get it right.

Episode 53: Mr. Peabody Never Had a Flux Capacitor
Wednesday Sep 28, 2011
Wednesday Sep 28, 2011
Set your Flux Capacitor for 1.21 Gigawatts or hop into your TARDIS and prepare to journey back in time with Mike and Andy for Episode 53 of Geek Salad...and this time, they're bringing special guests Jim and Adam (the Superfan) with them as they debate the merits of time travel with such offerings as "Time Bandits," "Quantum Leap," "Dr. Who," Star Trek," and "Back to the Future," among others!
Then stick around for a Stupid Stupid where Andy gets back on the soapbox to bemoan the reaction to the new photo of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Trailer Park includes a spirited "chat" about "Real Steel!" And the Star Wars Blu-Rays and the breakup of R.E.M. are discussed in the Shills!
