Episode 84: The Last Son of Kryptin

1hr 55 min
In 1938, two creative young men came up with the idea of an alien from a destroyed planet who becomes one of the greatest superheroes the world has ever known, Superman. 74 years later, their groundbreaking vision has reached its ultimate form in Geek Salad episode 84: The Last Son of Kryptin (aka, Krypton, but as spoken by Marlon Brando). Join Andy, Mike C, and Mike G as they use the entire show (sorry, no segments this time) to discuss Superman and all the wonders, and horrors, that his long legacy has wrought. They also tackle his villains (including Lex Luthor's horribly petty reason for hating Superman), his friends, his animal sidekicks, the multiple goofy versions of Kryptonite, and more. The guys even get into a knock-down, drag out fight over the merits of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel and the possibilities for the Justice League movie. Okay, it's more of a fierce debate... okay, more of a friendly debate.

As a special gift to the Geek Salad faithful, while we all wait for the gang to reassemble for the next episode, here is some extra audio that was recorded for episode 81, but was ultimately cut for time. This audio includes the regular segments of Trailer Park (The Wolverine), Stupid Stupid (more Michael Bay idiocy), and Salad Shills (video games, vacations, and fun new technology). Enjoy and keep an eye out for episode 82 to be coming soon... we hope.

Remember all the really great video games that we've all gotten to play? Now remember all the truly gut-wrenchingly awful ones? Well if you say yes to the second question, then join Andy, Mike, Mike, Jim, and Adam for Geek Salad episode 59: The President Has Been Kidnapped By Ninjas! Yes, the Geek Salad crew prove they're bad enough to not only rescue the president from ninjas, but also to explore the truly horrendous depths that video games have sunk to since the early 70s, to ignore the fact that the plural of ninja is still ninja, and to watch as Adam spends most of the time playing on his original Nintendo Entertainment System. Then stick around for some 3D-based Stupid Stupid, some Star Wars-inspired Salad Shills, and an overloaded Trailer Park that's chock full of GI Joe, Dark Knight, and Hobbit goodness.
