To celebrate the life and films of a man often considered one of the greatest directors of all time, Geek Salad discusses all things Spielberg in episode 159: Who is Sally and Why Does She Like Mexico?

Join Andy, Joe, and Mike as they discuss the many highs (Jaws, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park) and relatively few but still very lows (1941, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones) of Steven Spielberg. We truly live in a golden age of Comic Book movies. Much like the second golden age of comics in the early 1980’s, the Nerd Generation has never had such an embarrassment of riches….

….however, these are not the movies we’re discussing this week. We’ve again taken the votes of the Geek Salad listening audience and compiled the Top 15 Worst Comic Book Based movies of all time! Join Joe, Andy, and Mike as they count down the head-scratchingly awful, the “How could they possibly continue to get Fantastic Four wrong???”, and Joe’s all but giving up on the DCEU…at least it’s getting harder for him to defend it!

Back in 1984, kids had lost interest in most of the toy lines of the day. Then, Hasbro released the Transformers line, and kids now had toys that could be cars, trucks, jets, and guns, as well as kick-ass robots! Now the Geek Salad team of Joe, Andy, and Mike discuss the toy line, as well as the multiple cartoon and comic book series and the 1986 animated movie.

Then, they’ll put their film school nerd caps on to discuss everything wrong with the dumpster fire that is the Michael Bay Transformers series. It’s at this point that Andy will go off on proper character motivation and action sequencing while Joe and Mike bang their heads against the coffee table trying to figure out how, in God’s name, you can screw up the Dinobots!!!!

Ahh, summer! Kids are out of school, adults are still at work being resentful of summer vacation, and people generally want to be outside and go on trips or just relax by the pool. On those hot summer weekends, when you're firing up the grill and need some tunes for entertainment, what are some of the best songs to crank the boombox to? Well worry no longer, for the Geek Salad crew is here to give some entries to their summer playlists with Geek Salad episode 146: Boombox Barbecue!

Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine all have very different ideas about what makes a great summer playlist, so even if one song doesn't work for you, there is sure to be a better one around the corner. Who will have the most eclectic mix? Who's playlist was primarily picked by their daughter? If you've been listening for any length of time, you probably already know the answers. Syndicated television shows really come in a few of different forms. There are the shows that were created for networks, first aired there, and then moved to syndicated after their run ended. There were shows that started on networks, but moved to syndication due to poor ratings and/or quality. And then there were the shows that were first aired on syndication. Well all three of these types will be discussed in Geek Salad episode 143: Syndicated Incorporated!

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they go over their many memories of syndicated TV. From the highs of Xena to the lows of Small Wonder and a whole lot of the in betweens, they go through both the joys and scars of their childhood memories of TV shows that couldn't quite make it to the big networks.

For 10 seasons, the TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 has been making some of the worst movies out there into hilarious viewing experiences. On April 14, 2017, the show returns with new episodes. In celebration of this momentous occurrence, Geek Salad has once again united to list off some of their favorite episodes and shorts from the show's history with Episode 142: Movie Sign and Chill.

Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine each come prepared with a list of some of their favorite moments in MST3K history. In which movie did we see the epic battle between Paul Anka and Mel Torme?
