Thursday Jul 04, 2019
Thursday Jul 04, 2019
Go grab some headphones and some popcorn! The movie (soundtrack) is about to begin!
Join the Geek Salad team (as well as very special guest Todd Vickstrom) as they discuss their favorite movie soundtracks! This is an episode so epic, that it’s been split into two pieces!
On this side, we welcome all of our social media feedback, with some discussions along the way, and pave through a number of different genres of movies and the music that helped create them. Special thanks to Geek Salad’s resident Shoulder Angel, Em from the Verbal Diorama podcast, as she enlightens us yanks about some of her picks! Be sure to check out her show wherever podcasts are downloaded (Hint: It’s the same place that you’re probably listening to this show!)!

Just when you thought you knew who your friends were….
Episode 179 of Geek Salad finds Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine discussing their biggest unpopular opinions in the Pop Culture landscape. Needless to say, there’s some lively conversation on “Ready Playa Hata One!”
But it’s not just them! Thanks to everyone on Facebook and Twitter to revealed their unpopular opinions as well…pulling the band-aid off of the thoughts they felt should have stayed hidden!

Episode 173: The Fleem is Okie Dokie
Sunday Jan 27, 2019
Sunday Jan 27, 2019
It's the Muppet Movie show, with our very special guest stars, Geek Salad! YAAAAAYYYYY!
Yes, after far too long without an episode on the Muppets, Geek Salad is rectifying that by going over the movies made my Kermit the Frog and company in Geek Salad episode 173: The Fleem is Okie Dokie.
Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they cover all the official Muppet movies. From 1979's The Muppet Movie all the way to 2014's Muppets Most Wanted, they discuss all eight theatrically released Muppet films (sorry all you fans of The Muppets' Wizard of Oz... if there are any). Did they truly lose the Muppet magic once Jim Henson died, or was there still some quality to be had? And was Muppets from Space really so bad? You'll have to ask Katherine about that last question, as I don't think any of the others actually bothered to watch it.

Episode 172: The Wishbook of Shattered Dreams
Saturday Dec 22, 2018
Saturday Dec 22, 2018
It’s the Holiday Season! And the Geek Salad gang is sippin’ on eggnog and reminiscing about Christmases past….most specifically what they circled in their favorite department store Christmas wish books….and what they did (or didn’t) get under the tree in their respective years!
So gather around the fireplace and ask yourself one question: “How much would any of this stuff that I demanded from Santa actually end up costing my parents?” The answer will make you weep….
Also, stick around for a quick wrap up of this interminable year of 2018, including a discussion about The Avengers: Endgame trailer!

Episode 171: The Green/Bonham-Carter Chronicles
Sunday Dec 16, 2018
Sunday Dec 16, 2018
There are a number of unique and stylized directors in Hollywood, but very few are so stylized that they have adjectives made of their names. One of those lucky few is Tim "Burton-esque" Burton, and the Geek Salad crew examines the many ups and downs of his career in episode 171: The Green/Bonham-Carter Chronicles.
Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they discuss the oeuvre of Mister Burton, from his debut in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure all the way to next year's Dumbo. Did he ever reach higher than Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands? Did he ever fall lower than Planet of the Apes? Many a good natured debates will be had.

Episode 166b: Song of the [Redacted] - Part 2
Sunday Sep 09, 2018
Sunday Sep 09, 2018
After Walt Disney passed away, it took the Studio quite some time to get back to making decent live-action films. Depending on who you ask, the timing of that happening varies greatly. Just as it does with the Geek Salad crew as they conclude their discussion on the live-action films of Walt Disney Studios in episode 166b: Song of the [Redacted] - Part 2!
Andy, Mike, and Joe are back to tackle Disney's live-action films from the 1980s until today. From the surprisingly light offerings of the 80s to the hit or miss qualities of the 90s, and then on to the current generally high quality films of today (with a number of notable exemptions). Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, it's bobsled time! So enjoy your mug of rum and relax with some Geek Salad fun!

On August 12, 2008, Mike C and Andy opened the Geek Salad studio for the first time and laid forth their first episode “The Sleeper Has Awakened.” More than 165 shows later, Andy is joined by Mike G, Katherine, and Joe to celebrate Geek Salad’s 10th anniversary with “The Sleeper Hears Ya, The Sleeper Don’t Care!”
Join the team as they discuss their first introduction to the Geek Salad audience as well as discussing the biggest geek moments and movements of the past 10 years! Included in the conversation are topics ranging from Disney buying up every property we care about, the mainstream popularity of cosplay, and the sexist, racist, shout factory hellscape that the internet has become!

Wednesday Jul 11, 2018
Wednesday Jul 11, 2018
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery….but what happens when the imitation surpasses the original? Well, the team at Geek Salad is going to try to answer that as they discuss the cover songs they feel surpassed the originals!
Joining Mike, Katherine, Joe, and Andy for this installment is onetime co-hose of the show Jim (and his son Nicholas, who is keeping us on Language Filter throughout the show) as they talk about some great covers from Metallica, Pearl Jam, Rascal Flatts, Foo Fighters, and Disturbed, among others. They will also fight tooth and nail over the age old question about if there are actually any good Beatles covers out there….

Episode 161: Hulu and Screw
Sunday Jun 03, 2018
Sunday Jun 03, 2018
So you say you have too much free time? Well worry no longer! Geek Salad had returned with some great suggestions to while away an afternoon or two or ten binge-watching some streaming TV shows with episode 161: Hulu and Screw. If you think streaming services are only for catching reruns of The A-Team, then prepare for a lot of knowledge to be coming your way.
Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they list off some of their favorite shows which are available for streaming online somewhere and are eminently bingeable. Sure, there are the well-known ones like the Marvel series and Stranger Things, but the gang goes more into some shows that are great, but maybe are not as familiar as they should be. Never fear, though, for reruns of former shows do also make their appearances.
