Episode 212: I’d Watch THAT For A Dollar!

Saturday, July 10th, 2021

Have you ever watched a show or movie and see those characters watching a separate fictional show or movie? Then, have you ever thought to yourself that you would actually like to see that fictional property be made for you to enjoy? Well so has the Geek Salad crew, and they decided to share some of their most desired fictional media in episode 212: I'd Watch THAT For A Dollar!

Join Andy, Mike G, Joe, Katherine, and Mike C as they discuss some of the fictional properties they would most likely watch were they to ever actually exist. From "Itchy & Scratchy" to "Gekiganger 3", they cover both the well-known as well as the more obscure. But did you really expect anything less from them?

Sunday, March 14th, 2021

The Covid Pandemic is now over a year along now, and in that year, people have discovered new methods to help alleviate the stress and boredom. The Geek Salad crew gives a brief overview of some of their new entertainment discoveries in the uncomfortably titled episode 207: Quarantine Quickies.

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, Katherine, and original co-host Mike as they bring up some quick topics that wouldn't really be big enough for full episodes on their own. From new podcasts to new TV shows, they bring up a bunch of options to occupy your free time.

Episode 204: The Night the Reindeer Died!

Sunday, December 20th, 2020

On the 12 days of Christmas, the movies I will see... have been voted on by the listeners of Geek Salad, the crew themselves, their friends and family, and anyone else they could badger for votes. But from all those votes came a list of 70+ films. And the top 12 movies get revealed in Geek Salad episode 204: The Night the Reindeer Died!

So join along with Andy, Mike, Joe, Katherine, and Todd as they count down the list. Whether the movie was solely focused on holiday themes, or took place during the holiday season, people had multiple criteria for what they considered to be a Christmas movie. As long as the movies were theatrically released, though, they were eligible. So what movie hit #1? And what movies might the crew disagree on?

And thanks to everyone for making a tough 2020 into a slightly less tough year.

Episode 196: What We Do In the Quarantine

Monday, June 29th, 2020

To say that 2020 has been a difficult year would be an obscene understatement .The world is burning, society is in upheaval, and there is still a global pandemic that is keeping most of the population isolated at home…so why not have the Geek Salad team try to have some laughs about it?

On this episode, the gang discusses what they’ve been doing to keep themselves entertained during this difficult time.  Between movies, TV, board games, video games, music, and other personal improvement projects, Katherine, Mike, Joe, Andy (and joined by Todd and Jim) lay bare how they’ve been passing the time!

Episode 195: PlayStation 2 - Electric Boogaloo (part 2)

Sunday, June 14th, 2020

Twenty years ago, one of the greatest gaming consoles ever made, the PlayStation 2, was released. To honor the birth of this gaming legend, the Geek Salad crew is back with the second part of their giant-sized tribute episode, episode 195: PlayStation 2 - Electric Boogaloo (part 2).

So re-join Andy, Mike, Joe, Katherine, Todd, and Katherine's husband Joe, as they go over some picks from their personal lists of favorites that had not been covered already in part 1. From popular fare like Silent Hill 2 and Burnout 3, to lesser known titles like War of the Monsters and Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds, there are plenty of fun titles to be enjoyed.

Episode 173: The Fleem is Okie Dokie

Sunday, January 27th, 2019

It's the Muppet Movie show, with our very special guest stars, Geek Salad! YAAAAAYYYYY!

Yes, after far too long without an episode on the Muppets, Geek Salad is rectifying that by going over the movies made my Kermit the Frog and company in Geek Salad episode 173: The Fleem is Okie Dokie.

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they cover all the official Muppet movies. From 1979's The Muppet Movie all the way to 2014's Muppets Most Wanted, they discuss all eight theatrically released Muppet films (sorry all you fans of The Muppets' Wizard of Oz... if there are any). Did they truly lose the Muppet magic once Jim Henson died, or was there still some quality to be had? And was Muppets from Space really so bad? You'll have to ask Katherine about that last question, as I don't think any of the others actually bothered to watch it.

Episode 166b: Song of the [Redacted] - Part 2

Sunday, September 9th, 2018

After Walt Disney passed away, it took the Studio quite some time to get back to making decent live-action films. Depending on who you ask, the timing of that happening varies greatly. Just as it does with the Geek Salad crew as they conclude their discussion on the live-action films of Walt Disney Studios in episode 166b: Song of the [Redacted] - Part 2!

Andy, Mike, and Joe are back to tackle Disney's live-action films from the 1980s until today. From the surprisingly light offerings of the 80s to the hit or miss qualities of the 90s, and then on to the current generally high quality films of today (with a number of notable exemptions). Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, it's bobsled time! So enjoy your mug of rum and relax with some Geek Salad fun!

Episode 156: An American Werewolf on Golden Pond

Sunday, February 11th, 2018

While doing their yearly retrospecticons on the movies and musics of 30 years ago, Geek Salad had neglected to cover the movies of 1981. Well this oversight has finally been corrected as the crew finally brings you episode 156: An American Werewolf on Golden Pond. "The loons, Norman! The... AHHHHHHHH!!!" That might have made me interested in seeing that movie, if I'm honest.

Yes, from Time Bandits to Raiders of the Lost Ark, Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine tackle 1981's top ten grossing films before heading into some of the more memorable (for good or for ill) films of the year that also gave us Donkey Kong.
