Episode 205: Wendy & Marvin - The Animated Series (Part 2)
Friday Jan 29, 2021
Friday Jan 29, 2021
Beyond Batman: The Animated Series and all of it's extremely entertaining sequels and spin-offs, DC Animation has given us several other series and animated movies. So Geek Salad have returned to discuss some of those hits (and a few misses) with episode 205: Wendy & Marvin - The Animated Series (Part 2).
Re-join Andy, Mike, Joe, and original co-host Mike C as they talk about DC's animated fare from the mid-2000s until 2020. From the cartoonish Teen Titans, to the more serious Young Justice, to the over-the-top Harley Quinn, DC animated series have several varieties of tones and audiences. Was there ever actually an audience for Teen Titans Go, though? The answer might surprise you.

Episode 204: The Night the Reindeer Died!
Sunday Dec 20, 2020
Sunday Dec 20, 2020
On the 12 days of Christmas, the movies I will see... have been voted on by the listeners of Geek Salad, the crew themselves, their friends and family, and anyone else they could badger for votes. But from all those votes came a list of 70+ films. And the top 12 movies get revealed in Geek Salad episode 204: The Night the Reindeer Died!
So join along with Andy, Mike, Joe, Katherine, and Todd as they count down the list. Whether the movie was solely focused on holiday themes, or took place during the holiday season, people had multiple criteria for what they considered to be a Christmas movie. As long as the movies were theatrically released, though, they were eligible. So what movie hit #1? And what movies might the crew disagree on?
And thanks to everyone for making a tough 2020 into a slightly less tough year.

From the 1930s till the late 1960s, Warner Brothers made an extensive collection of short cartoons which they called Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. From these shorts came animated characters which still inspire laughter and love even today. And Geek Salad is here to discuss them in part 1 of episode 202: There's Baloney in Our Slacks!
Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they go over some of the true classics of the Warner Brothers animation archives. From major named like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to lesser characters like Witch Hazel and the Goofy Gophers, they go over some of there favorites, and even some they aren't as fond of.
And be sure and come back for part 2 where they talk about a couple of Looney Tunes modern sequels.

Episode 200: A Million Deaths Are Not Enough for Yueh
Monday Oct 19, 2020
Monday Oct 19, 2020
Since 2008, Geek Salad has attempted to bring you the finest (and sometimes drunkest) of nerdly conversations! Now, we are proud to present our mega-sized 200th episode, this time with the our very special guests; Nik from the Black Girls Do Stuff Too podcast and Thomas from Movies After Work! Also joining us in a pre-recorded interview is Em from Verbal Diorama!
So while we’ve aged like fine wine, we discuss the things that we used to love that have aged like vinegar. If it’s a change in attitudes in regards to how we view different ethnic groups or different gender identities, to the poor aging of how our viewpoints in storytelling against things that were popular way back when, we’ve got some really great conversations!
