Since 2008, Geek Salad has attempted to bring you the finest (and sometimes drunkest) of nerdly conversations! Now, we are proud to present our mega-sized 200th episode, this time with the our very special guests; Nik from the Black Girls Do Stuff Too podcast and Thomas from Movies After Work! Also joining us in a pre-recorded interview is Em from Verbal Diorama!
So while we’ve aged like fine wine, we discuss the things that we used to love that have aged like vinegar. If it’s a change in attitudes in regards to how we view different ethnic groups or different gender identities, to the poor aging of how our viewpoints in storytelling against things that were popular way back when, we’ve got some really great conversations!

Honestly, who reads books these days? I thought books ceased to exist once you leave school. Well, apparently not, because the Geek Salad crew is getting all edumacated and literatical as they discuss some of their favorite books, book series, and authors in Geek Salad episode 153: Huked on Fonicks Wrked 4 We.
And if you don't understand the joke for that title, look up the commercials for Hooked on Phonics... or at least listen to Brian Regan's first comedy album.
And before you go thinking that we're just a bunch of weirdos (which we are anyway) for reading books, we got a TON of listener feedback for this episode, so we're obviously not the only one. So whether you've got a letter of admission to Hogwarts, are hiding from the dozen more monsters Stephen King wrote about this year, or just chilling the the Fremen of Dune, pull up a comfy chair and enjoy this latest episode before tackling the latest adventure in Tortall.

Get your tickets and Fast Passes ready, because the team at
Geek Salad is going to be taking you on a wild ride! Relive the fun, the laughs, and the motion
sickness when Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine discuss their favorite amusement
parks.
From the parks that the gang grew up around in New
England, to some of the most head scratching “amusement” parks
imaginable (Dollywood, I’m looking right in your general direction!) to the
House of Mouse, the Geeks have you covered!
(For the parents out there, we would like to point out that, while we are discussing a whole bunch of Family FunTime destinations, this show is definitely NOT for your kids!!!)

It’s dangerous to go alone….take this!!!
…and with those words, the children of the 80’s blew into
their golden cartridges, prayed that the included battery saved their game
data, and went on their quest to save the Princess Zelda.
Now, Mike, Andy, and Joe discuss the enduring legacy that is
the quest of Link in the Legend of Zelda games.
They discuss the triumphs, like the original game, Ocarina of Time, and
Twilight Princess, to the failures of Majoro’s Mask, Link’s Adventure, and the
CD-i games that were so awful, they were scrubbed from the Zelda continuity.
Then, hang out as the boys discuss the latest “Suicide
Squad” trailer.
Then, buckle in for the depressing third of the show, where
the gang discusses the recent deaths of Glen Frey, Alan Rickman, and David
Bowie…

Welcome to the crossroads to Christmas Past and Christmas

after it's release in Episode 106: "Pottersville and The Spirit of
Christmas!"
Rejoice! Rejoice as
they discuss the differences the movies, television shows, music, and
advertising of the Yule Tide, bringing up some very interesting debates...and a
lot of mentions of The Muppets...
Then, stick around for a Trailer Park discussion about the
trailer for "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Unleashed," as well as
a "Stupid/Stupid" regarding some of the controversies surrounding the
trailer...
