Superman had his origin told in the very first issue. Batman took six issues of Detective Comics before his backstory was relayed. Amateurs! Geek Salad has taken 99 episodes before finally giving their origin story in episode 99: Almost There! After a bit of a break, the Geek Salad crew are back to resume their discussion of the X-Men movies with episode 98, part 2: Days of Dinklage Past. Andy, Mike G, Jim, and Joe have returned to chat about the mixed bag of Wolverine movies, and the wonder of X-Men: First Class. They then go into a (WARNING!) spoiler-laden conversation about the sheer brilliance that is X-Men: Days of Future Past.

In 1963, Stan Lee decided to create a new team of superheroes. Unable to come up with a unique way that they all got their powers, though, he just decided that they were just born with their abilities. He grabbed Jack Kirby for the artwork, and behold, the X-Men were born!
Now, 51 years later, they have gained the ultimate honor! They are the subject of not just a Geek Salad episode, but a two-parter! So come join Andy, both Mikes, Jim, and Joe, as they discuss and debate their favorite X-Men comic stories, the pros and cons of the first three X-Men movies, and also have some giggles coming up with the most useless mutant abilities. There has never been a term which has inspired more anger, hatred, and unbridled rage than 'game night'. However, showing true courage, Geek Salad is venturing into the realm of board games with episode 96: Terror Through the Lollipop Forest! Now I know everyone seems to remember board games fondly, but there are few other objects that destroy relationships, are rather perverse, and are only occasionally fun. So join Andy, both Mikes, Jim, and Joe as they bask in the joy and nostalgia.
After that, the guys discuss the qualities of the new Fantastic Four casting (as well as going off on a tangent about Maguire Spider-Man vs Garfield Spider-Man), review the new Maleficent and Godzilla trailers, and then shill evrything from TV shows to internet programs. Tons of fun all around!

30 years ago, a series of movies that were released that still resonate with the Geek public today. 30 years ago, we introduced the world to bananas in tailpipes, ritual heart removal, unlicensed/untested nuclear accelerators, and the PG-13 rating. Now, the team of Andy and Mike G (along with special guests Joe and Autumn) parse the spectrum of the best movie year of the 80's. Join in as they discuss (again) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Dune, and Star Trek III, as well as new (old) favorites like Amadeus, Beverly Hills Cop, and, of course, Ghostbusters.

Just in time for Christmas comes Geek Salad episode 92: Rankin My Bass. Yes, join Andy and Mike with special guests Joe and Autumn as they rank their bass guitars and attempt to... oh, wait. Wrong bass. No, this is a Holiday episode, so of course the gang is talking about the ups and downs (many, many downs) of the Rankin & Bass Holiday specials. Starting with Rudolph, the duo of Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass came up with some of the most classic animated specials to ever grace the TV screen. Unfortunately, they also inflicted some of the most confusing, scarring, and just plain hateful moments as well (what the hell is an Awgwa, anyway?)
After that, there's some DC-inspired Stupid Stupid and a retro Trailer Park with "Santa Claus: The Movie". Finally, stick around for some Salad Shills that range everywhere from Doctor Who to commercials from the '70s.

Laugh tracks! Predictable plot lines! We must be talking about sitcoms. In fact, we're talking about the top 25 sitcom characters from the past 30 years in Geek Salad episode 91: Tricks Are What Whores Do for Money.
