Thursday May 23, 2019
Thursday May 23, 2019
Just when you thought you knew who your friends were….
Episode 179 of Geek Salad finds Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine discussing their biggest unpopular opinions in the Pop Culture landscape. Needless to say, there’s some lively conversation on “Ready Playa Hata One!”
But it’s not just them! Thanks to everyone on Facebook and Twitter to revealed their unpopular opinions as well…pulling the band-aid off of the thoughts they felt should have stayed hidden!

Episode 176: Goofy's How to Host a Podcast
Sunday Apr 07, 2019
Sunday Apr 07, 2019
In 1928, Walt Disney created a cartoon mouse which he named Mickey, and in doing so, he changed the world as we know it. Now, 91 years later, Geek Salad is honoring that legacy with episode 176: Goofy's How to Host a Podcast.
Andy, Mike, and Joe go through the main cast of Disney's classic characters, from Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to Daisy Duck and more. They discuss the characters personalities, their voices, how they've changed over the years, and other interesting little foibles they may have noticed. So break out your Mickey ears and give your best Goofy "Yah-hoo-hoo-hooie!"

Episode 173: The Fleem is Okie Dokie
Sunday Jan 27, 2019
Sunday Jan 27, 2019
It's the Muppet Movie show, with our very special guest stars, Geek Salad! YAAAAAYYYYY!
Yes, after far too long without an episode on the Muppets, Geek Salad is rectifying that by going over the movies made my Kermit the Frog and company in Geek Salad episode 173: The Fleem is Okie Dokie.
Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they cover all the official Muppet movies. From 1979's The Muppet Movie all the way to 2014's Muppets Most Wanted, they discuss all eight theatrically released Muppet films (sorry all you fans of The Muppets' Wizard of Oz... if there are any). Did they truly lose the Muppet magic once Jim Henson died, or was there still some quality to be had? And was Muppets from Space really so bad? You'll have to ask Katherine about that last question, as I don't think any of the others actually bothered to watch it.

Episode 171: The Green/Bonham-Carter Chronicles
Sunday Dec 16, 2018
Sunday Dec 16, 2018
There are a number of unique and stylized directors in Hollywood, but very few are so stylized that they have adjectives made of their names. One of those lucky few is Tim "Burton-esque" Burton, and the Geek Salad crew examines the many ups and downs of his career in episode 171: The Green/Bonham-Carter Chronicles.
Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they discuss the oeuvre of Mister Burton, from his debut in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure all the way to next year's Dumbo. Did he ever reach higher than Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands? Did he ever fall lower than Planet of the Apes? Many a good natured debates will be had.

Episode 166b: Song of the [Redacted] - Part 2
Sunday Sep 09, 2018
Sunday Sep 09, 2018
After Walt Disney passed away, it took the Studio quite some time to get back to making decent live-action films. Depending on who you ask, the timing of that happening varies greatly. Just as it does with the Geek Salad crew as they conclude their discussion on the live-action films of Walt Disney Studios in episode 166b: Song of the [Redacted] - Part 2!
Andy, Mike, and Joe are back to tackle Disney's live-action films from the 1980s until today. From the surprisingly light offerings of the 80s to the hit or miss qualities of the 90s, and then on to the current generally high quality films of today (with a number of notable exemptions). Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, it's bobsled time! So enjoy your mug of rum and relax with some Geek Salad fun!

Episode 166a: Song of the [Redacted] - Part 1
Monday Sep 03, 2018
Monday Sep 03, 2018
While Walt Disney Pictures may be most widely known for their animated films, Walt quickly learned that live action films are quicker and cheaper to make, and help bring in money so he could make more animated movies. So, from 1946 onwards, Disney has made hundreds of live action films! With so many to their credit, though, not all of them are gems. In fact, most of them are pretty forgettable. But worry not! Geek Salad is here to go over some of the best, and worst, of the lot in Geek Salad episode 166: Song of the
Join Andy, Mike, and Joe as they go decade by decade, discussing some of the shining gems, and some of the not so shining duds. As what usually happens with Disney-related episodes, though, they did go on a bit long. Thus, the episode is split in half, with Part 1 going from the 1940s to the 1970s.
Do you love Mary Poppins? Do you remember The Gnome-Mobile? Did the banshee in Darby O'Gill and the Little People scare you as much as it did our intrepid hosts? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, then this episode is for you! If you answered "No", then go ahead and listen, anyway. We're all inclusive!

On August 12, 2008, Mike C and Andy opened the Geek Salad studio for the first time and laid forth their first episode “The Sleeper Has Awakened.” More than 165 shows later, Andy is joined by Mike G, Katherine, and Joe to celebrate Geek Salad’s 10th anniversary with “The Sleeper Hears Ya, The Sleeper Don’t Care!”
Join the team as they discuss their first introduction to the Geek Salad audience as well as discussing the biggest geek moments and movements of the past 10 years! Included in the conversation are topics ranging from Disney buying up every property we care about, the mainstream popularity of cosplay, and the sexist, racist, shout factory hellscape that the internet has become!

Episode 164: The Nakatomi Family Christmas
Saturday Jul 28, 2018
Saturday Jul 28, 2018
When you think of some of the truly excellent and beloved movies of the late 1980s, it is genuinely shocking how many came from 1988. From Die Hard to Beetlejuice, some real gems came out of this year. Of course, there were some stink piles, as well. To help sort through some of these, the Geek Salad crew has returned to cover the movies that came out 30 years ago in episode 164: The Nakatomi Family Christmas.
Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine go through some of the most memorable films of 1988, for good or for ill, listing out the top 10 domestic grossing films of the year along with others that stand out in their minds. So if you had your sexual awakening to Jessica Rabbit, or simply believe that perhaps we didn't need a sequel to Crocodile Dundee, than sit back and enjoy. Even if those two qualifications don't match up with you, you can enjoy it, as well.
Seriously... what did Jessica see in that rabbit?!?

Please refrain from flash photography and make yourself comfortable…Geek Salad is going Broadway with our gala musical episode (disclaimer: outside of a couple of random parts here and there, nobody actually breaks out into song).
With the help of guests Matt Jones (i.e.; professional actor type) and Autumn (aka: “Mrs Andy”), as well as a MASSIVE swell of social media feedback, Andy, Mike, Katherine, and Joe cover many different eras and genres of musicals. While the discussion focuses on the typical Broadway show, the gang does talk about movie musicals, as well as sending Mike and Joe out to Thunderdome to discuss the TV (Stunt) Musical…
Due to the length of the discussion, we’ve put together playlists of much of the music discussed on the show. You can download the Spotify Playlist here

The Geek Salad crew has returned to finish off their countdown of the top 20 comic book movies of all time in Geek Salad episode 150: Chimichangas and Shawarma, A-holes! part 2 (The Whedon Cut).
Andy, Mike, and Joe are back and they're ready to reveal the top 10 comic book movies. Will The Dark Knight hold onto it's top spot from the episode 50 list? Where will The Avengers sit on the list (considering the last list was made before The Avengers came out), because we know it will make the list somewhere. That movie was awesome!
