The year 1989 ended up being one hell of a year for movies. From Tim Burton's first Batman film to Ghostbusters II, this year really gave us some true gems, as well as some lesser but still memorable hits. And here to go through some of those films is Geek Salad with episode 182: Be Excellent to Batarangs (part 1).

In 1928, Walt Disney created a cartoon mouse which he named Mickey, and in doing so, he changed the world as we know it. Now, 91 years later, Geek Salad is honoring that legacy with episode 176: Goofy's How to Host a Podcast.
Andy, Mike, and Joe go through the main cast of Disney's classic characters, from Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to Daisy Duck and more. They discuss the characters personalities, their voices, how they've changed over the years, and other interesting little foibles they may have noticed. Did they truly lose the Muppet magic once Jim Henson died, or was there still some quality to be had? And was Muppets from Space really so bad? You'll have to ask Katherine about that last question, as I don't think any of the others actually bothered to watch it.

After Walt Disney passed away, it took the Studio quite some time to get back to making decent live-action films. Depending on who you ask, the timing of that happening varies greatly. Just as it does with the Geek Salad crew as they conclude their discussion on the live-action films of Walt Disney Studios in episode 166b: Song of the [Redacted] - Part 2!

While Walt Disney Pictures may be most widely known for their animated films, Walt quickly learned that live action films are quicker and cheaper to make, and help bring in money so he could make more animated movies. So, from 1946 onwards, Disney has made hundreds of live action films! With so many to their credit, though, not all of them are gems. In fact, most of them are pretty forgettable. But worry not! Geek Salad is here to go over some of the best, and worst, of the lot in Geek Salad episode 166: Song of the
